Spout App Reviews

GREAT APP

If you have a good taste, you will certain buy this app! Its really cool!!!

Great Potential, Awful Implementation

The application seems as though it has a lot of room to grow however two major areas of concern for me are that it requests to access all of your facebook information even when the application is not in use, additionally the text display from the twitter feed is off to a corner thus it is impossible to read peoples tweets. Overall two thumbs down.

Needs Polish

Excellent translation of the iOS application, but lacks some features that would really make it feel at home on the desktop. Biggest concern to me is the lack of resizing capability - being able to choose a custom resolution would be hugely beneficial, otherwise I cant really spare the real-estate. Didnt experience the layout issues that others have noticed - but better anti-aliasing on the text would improve the overall quality. Overall, a solid port in my opinion - but it needs to be more than just that!

Undecided

Maybe this app will live up to its well-composed hype in a future release. Right now it is not ready. My advice: wait and see (later).

DOESNT WORK WITH TWITTER!

This app hasnt been updated to work with Twitters new API. Developer had 3 months to update since Twitter announced the change, but theyd rather continue to make money selling you an app that they know doesnt work. VERY UNHAPPY CAMPER HERE.

Good, but...

Add please cyrillic fonts.

not bad. because..

SPOUT app very nice and simple! but does not display other languages Correctly (iPhone iPad and mac app all application problem) why do not know fix it? plz check it.

Whoa...

This app is great on my iPhone 4, but on the Mac desktop…the graphics are pixelated, animation is choppy, and the text gets cut off…how long until you optimize it for OS X and not iOS?

Not Ready Yet

I really wanted to like this app, but what Im findings is poor graphics (very pixelated) & tweets and news items that dont always display on the screen completely - sometimes the text or images appear half (or more) off the screen. So its not a usable app in its current state. Id save your money and wait for the next version - assuming they fix the issues with the app.

Woot!

I dont have all day to sit looking at Twitter and so having Spout running in a window on my desktop is a fantastic way to keep up with the news. Setup couldnt be easier and just works. Awesome!!

Sounds a nice catch, but its nothing but a huge mistake

The ideia is great, the problem is that you just cant read anything, all the tweets are displayed on the bottom right corner, but cutted, so you just can read the start of a tweet, the rest of it is displayed somewhere else, but my macbook, thats sad, cause it feels like a pretty good app, but it just didnt worked for me. sad.

App doesnt live up to the reviews!

Issue with the presentation going to lower right hand portion of the screen and cutting off text. Not worth the $2.99 price tage as of today….

In the words of Admiral Ackbar, "Its a trap!"

There is all around a lot of potential here, however for their first release, Collect3 totally bombed it. Animations are all around very choppy and disorienting. Even with animations disabled, text is highly pixelated whether the Application runs in Full Screen or within a Window. Seems obvious that there wasnt testing here, which makes sense as they just went with Chameleon and set a new compiler target.

Excellent!

I love this app! I can passively keep an eye on my friends twitter and facebook updates in a really beautiful way - Ive got this running on all of my macs. Of note, the 1.0.1 update fixes the text display offset issue (which I only had on my Lion machines, weird) that was in 1.0 - quick response and turn around from the developer! Great stuff :D

Still very poor resolution

I was really excited to finally see this come out for OSX, becuase we wanted to use it to power a lobby display at our office. However, the resolution when you attempt full screen mode is awful. Dont bother purchasing if you plan to use on a secondary monitor until they fix this issue.

A cool way to display feeds - Still needs a little refinement

One request: the application should remember its window size and location. It always defaults back, and I have to adjust every time I open it. Its great for a send monitor where you can keep it running.

Great app, but still has a few bugs

i love how this app can randomize how you see all the info from your feeds. it does have some bugs, including one with the new theme. sometimes a feed will stick on the page and you cant read anything anymore.

Pretty cool

While I may not find myself using this app very much, I love that it is a creative take on the viewing of tweets and such. It looks absolutely beautiful and works quite well.

Very Nice Idea

Its pretty awesome, it would be even cooler if you could use this as a screensaver!

Needs more features

Since its free right now its a must get!!! However, it definetley NEEDS an update allowing it to be used as a screensaver as well!!!!! Plus, there is a bug where it wont let you select double clicking goes to full screen, and even so, it will go full screen anyway but it wont open the post in a browsing window. Still worth getting cuz its free though.
